Rice Vermicelli Upma

Ingredients

  • ½ cup rice vermicelli
  • ½ teaspoon oil
  • 1 teaspoon white sesame seeds
  • 2 curry leaves, chopped
  • ⅛ pinch of asafoetida
  • ½ medium tomato, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste

Age Group: 8 -10 months

Rice Vermicelli Upma
  • 1 Dry-roast the rice vermicelli in a non-stick pan till brown. Transfer to a bowl and set aside.
  • 2 Heat the oil in the same pan. Add the white sesame seeds, curry leaves and asafoetida, mix well.
  • 3 Add the tomato and sauté for half a minute. Cook for two to three minutes.
  • 4 Add the salt and roasted rice vermicelli and mix well. Add one cup of hot water. Mix well, cover and cook till the vermicelli is done. Serve.
