By integrating smart nutrition with proactive health monitoring, Danone aims to help millions of adults living with diabetes, take charge of their well-being. Together, these collaborations reflect Danone mission to bring health through food to as many people as possible

Ms. Priyanka Verma, Marketing Director, Danone India, said: “At Danone India, we believe the future of diabetes care lies in making small, smart choices every day. Our work with Protinex Diabetes Care isn’t just about a product, it’s about redefining how India manages diabetes. By bringing together science-led nutrition, monitoring tools, and trusted health partners, we are helping people living with diabetes manage their sugar levels, overall health and be a partner of choice in their diabetes journey”

According to the latest data from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF), India is home to approximately 89.8 million adults (aged 20–79) living with diabetes — among the highest in the world. Alarmingly, a significant proportion remain undiagnosed or are not optimally managed.

A national survey published in JAMA Network (2023) revealed that only 59.4% of diagnosed adults reported taking medication, and just 65.5% of those treated achieved adequate blood glucose control. Moreover, the age of onset is getting younger, and diabetes-related complications are on the rise.

In this context, Protinex Diabetes Care seeks to shift the national conversation from reactive care to proactive prevention; from managing symptoms to building smarter daily habits.
