Staying healthy in the new normal

Over the past few months, we’ve witnessed a pandemic reshape the world in every aspect. Sure, the times haven’t been easy for any of us, but if there’s anything it’s achieved – it’s helped health and safety make it to the forefront of our lives.

In the ‘new normal’ our health and immunity have become a top priority. These, however, can’t be developed and achieved overnight. We need to make better choices, adopt better habits, and work towards being the healthiest versions of ourselves not only during the pandemic but in the long run. This new normal is an invitation to reinvent ourselves for a better tomorrow.

We can start with a shift in our eating habits. We need to move towards a diet abundant in healthy foods and adopt nutrient-rich diets. We should also be sure to add immunity-boosting foods such as ginger, citrus-based fruits, turmeric, and garlic to our grocery lists. This will ensure that we stay healthy and build our immunity to safeguard ourselves from sickness.

But a healthy diet isn’t enough. We need to start developing healthier habits and making better lifestyle choices. Sure, we’ve been advised to stay indoors, but that doesn’t mean we can’t exercise!

Going for a short walk on your terrace or in your garden can work wonders for your productivity. There also several ways in which you can exercise at home be it equipment or even online gym sessions. Remember that exercise is very important for both your physical and mental wellbeing.

Whenever you step out be sure to maintain social distancing, wash your hands frequently, and always wear a mask. Even though these times are tough, we need to stay positive and get through this while promising to maintain the same standard of health and safety into the future as a norm.
