Bringing health through food to as many people as possible

Our mission at Danone is to ‘bring health through food to as many people as possible’, and it comes alive in our unique product portfolio.

To encourage balanced and more sustainable food choices, we are working towards improving both the nutritional quality of our products as well as encouraging healthier food choices. At the same time, we have invested our efforts in always keeping consumer preference at the heart of every innovation.

As we strive to inspire healthier eating and drinking choices; we are focusing on innovations that address local needs and gaps without compromising on taste preferences. We call this Indovation.

We are constantly trying to create products that are in accordance with local tastes but also pack all the nutritional requirements. We have launched new flavours in Protinex variants such as Mango, Kesar badam, and Tasty chocolate , and Protinex Lite - a low sugar variant. We have partnered with The Eat right movement to create awareness about healthier food choices, and we have pledged to reduce sugar in our portfolio by 20%.

At Danone India, we have undertaken several advocacy campaigns to drive awareness around importance of protein and its impact on people’s health. And through a mix of traditional, social, and TV mediums; we have sensitized consumers to the role of this important nutrient in immunity.

This endeavour of ours is especially important because more than 72% of Indians consume protein deficient diets, therefore underlining the need for them to adopt healthier diets and habits.

We also created ‘The Protein Week’ - an annual initiative that focuses on creating conversations around protein and debunking the myths surrounding it.

In 2019, we partnered with Arogya World and InBody for The Protein Week to spread awareness among corporates and office goers and in 2020 we partnered with CII to sensitize Indians to the role of protein in building immunity.

We believe that the health of the planet and its people are interconnected, and our vision of ‘One planet. One health’ will only come alive when we pay closer attention to our food choices and adopt healthier and more sustainable eating and drinking practices.
